How to do a Full Moon Ritual

So, you're curious about this "moon ritual" stuff.

First let me debunk some myths about Moon Rituals... or really any rituals at all.

There is no right or wrong way to do a ritual.

There, I said it.

Now before, I get tons of mail explaining to me that I must not be a "real witch" if I don't perform rituals... let me explain.

First let's look at what exactly a ritual is.

According to the dictionary: A ritual is: a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.

Which basically means that if you believe doing things in a particular order, will ensure you get the maximum benefits.

Here's an example.

Have you ever heard of the athlete that has a "pre-game ritual"? You know what I mean. If they don't wear their red fuzzy socks the day before the game, followed by a breakfast of raw eggs, while dancing the chicken dance... they won't win the game.

It may sound ridiculous to some of us. But to the athlete, they have given these particular order of events a meaning. A purpose and the right amount of energy.

Therefore, it IS true.

Another example:

I have a friend that wholeheartedly believes that if she doesn't cleanse her Tarot Cards in a particular way, she won't have clear readings. And you know what? She's 100% right!

Not because everyone needs to cleanse their tarot cards like she does. (Not that anyone needs to cleanse them at all. But, that's a conversation for another time.)

But for HER, it makes sense. This is what she has given her energy to and therefore given power to.

Ok. Back to doing Rituals.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with having a good ol ritual. It helps me to focus my energy on what I feel is important and also helps me to remember why I'm performing it in the first place.

Unfortunately, there is so much "woo woo" misinformation floating around the internet these days, that most people think doing a Full Moon or New Moon Ritual involves dancing in a circle, saying the correct words, (don't you dare mess them up!), all while wearing a mysterious cloak and chanting.

If this is how YOU want to perform a ritual, nothing wrong with it. But know this "Hollywood style" isn't the only way.

I've met with many other energy workers in my life and had a wonderful time relaxing over a cup of coffee at the local shop. And performed a ritual, right there, in daylight, without anyone else being aware of what was happening.

That being said, you can perform your rituals boldly or subtely. It's up to you.

Want to be more formal?

Go for it.

Silly and playful?

You can do that too.

The whole point to a ritual is to focus your energy AND intent on the outcome you're seeking. It's putting that energy out into The Universe, with clarity.

Back to doing a Full Moon or New Moon Ritual.

Do them any way you like!

Most that practice lunar magic or planning, use the new moon for new beginnings and the full moon for releasing or reflecting. That's really the main thing to remember.

But, if you want something more "traditional", you can grab my little guide on that RIGHT HERE.

Think of it this way.

When you get married and are deciding on how you're wedding day is going to be.

Do you want a big fancy more traditional wedding? Or do you want to go to The Justice of the Peace?

Same outcome. You're still married at the end of it.

Moon rituals are the same. Or any ritual for that matter.

If you ever have any questions about this, you can reach out to me anytime. In the meantime...

 HAPPY RITUALS!
